Débora Oliveira A 78ª edição do Tony Awards consagrou os principais nomes do teatro norte-americano na noite de domingo (8), em cerimônia realizada no Radio City Music Hall, em Nova York, marcada por apresentações e momentos especiais. Entre os destaques da noite estão o musical Maybe Happy Ending e a peça Purpose, que saíram como os grandes vencedores da premiação.
Produções como Buena Vista Social Club, Sunset Boulevard, Just in Time e Real Women Have Curves animaram o público com performances ao vivo, enquanto o elenco original de Hamilton marcou presença em uma reunião especial. Nas categorias de atuação, brilharam nomes como Jonathan Groff, Nicole Scherzinger e Sadie Sink, celebrando novos talentos e veteranos.
O Tony Awards, oficialmente chamado de Antoinette Perry Award for Excellence in Broadway Theatre, é a principal premiação do teatro norte-americano. Criado em 1947 pelo American Theatre Wing em parceria com a Broadway League, ele é uma homenagem à atriz, diretora e filantropa Antoinette Perry e reconhece anualmente os melhores talentos e produções da Broadway, em Nova York.
